Industrial Waste Shredder — Mobile Twin-Shaft Units, 15–200 t/h
Five mobile shredders built for industrial waste streams: C&D debris, wood and biomass, municipal solid waste, scrap metal and end-of-life vehicles. All use low-speed, high-torque twin-shaft cutting, with rated throughput from 15 t/h on wood waste to 200 t/h on C&D debris.

Rated Throughput by Waste Stream
The same machine carries a different rating for each material, because bulk density and contamination change what it can swallow. Read down the column for the model you are considering — a dash means UPSEN does not publish a rating for that material on that model, not that the machine cannot be used.
| Material | UMS250 | UMS750 | UMS950 | UFS750 | T-MS250 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Construction & demolition debris | 80-130 t/h | 80-150 t/h | 180-200 t/h | 80-150 t/h (incl. asphalt) | 80-130 t/h |
| Wood and biomass | 15-20 t/h | 40-60 t/h | 100-150 t/h | — | 15-20 t/h |
| Municipal solid waste | 15-25 t/h | — | — | — | 15-25 t/h |

Rated figures from the published specification of each model page. Real throughput depends on bulk density, moisture, contamination and the screen configuration fitted.

Sizing an Industrial Waste Shredder
Three inputs decide the model. Everything else — screen, magnet, conveyor — follows from them.
A 100 t/h C&D job and a 100 t/h MSW job are different machines. C&D debris is dense and abrasive; MSW is light and bulky; wood is fibrous. Start from the material mix and the bulkiest item you will feed.
Match the rated figure for your material, not the headline number. If your shift target is 400 t of C&D debris, the 80-130 t/h band (UMS250, T-MS250) needs roughly four working hours before availability losses.
Output is set by the screen configuration. Decide the fraction your buyer accepts first — a tighter screen lowers effective throughput, so the model has to be chosen against the screened output, not the open discharge.
What Runs With a Shredder
A shredder is the first machine in a line, not the whole line.
An optional over-belt magnet recovers ferrous metal from the shredded output. Magnet widths are B650×2000 (UMS250, T-MS250), B800×2200 (UMS750, UFS750) and B1400×2700 (UMS950).
The main conveyor sets the stockpile height: B800×9000 mm and 2800 mm stacking on the UMS250, B1200×10500 mm and 3800 mm on the UMS750, B1400×11000 mm and 3000 mm on the UMS950.
Splits shredded material into saleable fractions. A tracked scalper or trommel from 30 to 400 t/h runs behind the shredder and returns oversize.
Clears the screened output without a wheel loader, which matters on sites where the shredder runs continuously.

What buyers ask before specifying a mobile industrial shredder
What industrial waste can a mobile shredder process?+
C&D debris, wood and biomass, municipal solid waste and, depending on model, scrap metal and end-of-life vehicles. UPSEN rates the same machine separately per material because throughput depends on bulk density and how tough the stream is — the UMS250, for example, is rated 80-130 t/h on C&D debris, 15-20 t/h on wood waste and 15-25 t/h on MSW.
How many tonnes per hour can an industrial waste shredder handle?+
From 15 t/h to 200 t/h depending on model and material. On C&D debris the range is 80-130 t/h (UMS250, T-MS250) through 80-150 t/h (UMS750, UFS750) to 180-200 t/h (UMS950). On wood waste it runs from 15-20 t/h on the UMS250 to 100-150 t/h on the UMS950.
What is the difference between a shredder and a crusher for industrial waste?+
A crusher reduces hard, brittle material by compression or impact into graded aggregate. A shredder reduces bulky, tough and mixed waste — timber, MSW, cable-bearing scrap, C&D with metal — into recyclable fractions at low speed and high torque. If your stream is reinforced concrete or rock, start from the mobile crusher range instead.
Diesel or electric drive?+
The three UMS models and the T-MS250 are diesel-powered, from 154 kW / 210 HP on the UMS250 and T-MS250 to 410 kW / 550 HP on the UMS950. The UFS750 is available with a 250 kW or 280 kW electric motor, or a CUMMINS 8.9-C360-30 264 kW / 354 HP diesel engine.
How do I control the output size?+
Output size is set by the screen configuration on the machine, not by the shaft speed. An optional over-belt magnet then recovers ferrous metal from the shredded output — standard fittings include B650×2000 on the UMS250 and B1400×2700 on the UMS950.
Do you make a wheeled version?+
Yes — the T-MS250. It uses the same Ø680 × 1550 mm shaft and 160,000 N·m reducer as the tracked UMS250, but runs on four car tyres with a 13 × 2.4 × 3.2 m transport size.
How much does an industrial waste shredder cost?+
Price depends on the model, the screen configuration, magnet and drive option, and the destination. Send us the waste stream, the daily tonnage and the output size you need, and we return a configured quotation.
