Mobile Crusher for Construction Waste Recycling
Mixed construction and demolition waste is not one material — it is brick, tile, mortar, concrete, timber and occasional gypsum board arriving in the same load. UPSEN tracked crushers and screeners let a transfer station or recycling yard turn that mixed tip into graded recycled aggregate on site.
Get A QuoteMixed loads need a line, not one machine
A single crusher cannot take a mixed C&D tip and produce graded aggregate. The usual configuration is pre-screening or shredding, primary crushing, metal removal and then screening into fractions.
Metal recovery is a revenue line
Scrap steel pulled out of the stream is sold rather than landfilled. A magnetic separator over the discharge conveyor is the standard way to recover it before the material is screened.
Urban yards have neighbours
Dust and noise control matter more at a transfer station than at a quarry. Water spray on transfer points and enclosed stockpile areas are the usual measures; the line is laid out so the crusher is not the closest thing to the boundary.
Recommended UPSEN Machines for C&D Waste
Primary jaw for concrete-heavy loads, impact crushing for mixed masonry and asphalt, scalping and trommel screeners for separation, and shredders for bulky material ahead of the crusher. Capacities below are the published ranges for each model.

| Primary jaw | UJC503 | 10-30 t/h | 250 mm feed |
| Trailer jaw (road-towable) | UTC503 | 10-30 t/h | 250 mm feed, road-towable |
| Primary jaw | UJC704 | 40-50 t/h | 350 mm feed |
| Primary jaw | UJC805 | 50-100 t/h | 425 mm feed |

How a Mobile C&D Waste Line Is Configured
Tip and inspection
Loads are tipped and inspected. Oversized items, timber and anything that should not enter the crusher are pulled out at this point rather than downstream.
Pre-processing
Bulky or tangled material goes through a mobile shredder such as the UMS250, or over a trommel to separate the soil-heavy fraction before crushing.
Primary crushing
A tracked jaw handles the concrete-heavy fraction; a tracked impact crusher is usually the better choice where the stream is mostly brick, tile and asphalt.
Metal removal
A magnetic separator over the discharge conveyor recovers scrap steel before the material is graded, keeping it out of the recycled aggregate.
Screening into fractions
A scalping or finishing screener cuts the output into the graded fractions the market buys — typically a fine fraction, a mid fraction and a coarse fraction for sub-base and fill.
Mobile Crusher for Construction Waste Recycling - FAQ
Questions from transfer station and recycling yard operators
Can one machine process mixed construction and demolition waste?+
No single unit does the whole job well. Mixed C&D waste normally needs pre-processing for bulky items, a primary crusher, metal removal and then screening. A two or three unit mobile line is the usual configuration at a transfer station.
Jaw or impact crusher for C&D waste?+
Concrete-heavy loads suit a jaw crusher, which handles slab and reinforcement well. Loads that are mostly brick, tile and asphalt usually suit an impact crusher, which produces a better-shaped product and tolerates more mixed feed.
How is steel recovered from the waste stream?+
With a magnetic separator over the discharge conveyor. Light rebar passes through the crushing chamber and is pulled out of the crushed stream before screening, so it does not contaminate the aggregate.
What output fractions can be produced?+
A crusher and screener pair can be configured to produce the graded fractions a yard sells, typically a fine fraction, a mid fraction and a coarse fraction for sub-base, fill and pipe bedding. The exact cuts depend on the screen decks fitted.
How is a recycling yard line laid out?+
The line is arranged so the crusher is not adjacent to the site boundary, with the feed hopper, crusher, magnetic separator and screens in sequence along the material flow. Water spray is fitted at the transfer points, and stockpiles are kept away from the fence line.
What capacity is realistic for a small to mid-size yard?+
The UYK221 scalper at 30-80 t/h and the UZS1230 at 80-200 t/h bracket most small and mid-size yards, paired with a UJC704 (40-50 t/h) or UJC805 (50-100 t/h) primary. Larger yards moving towards 300 t/h typically step up to the UZS1340.
